
Born in 1965 in Guildford, Surrey, England, is the youngest of four children. His father died when he was just a year old, and his mother remarried later in life. Piers attended private school growing up and he studied journalism at Harlow College.

When we was named editor of the “News of the World” in 1994, he became one of the youngest editorial directors in recent history at the age of 28. Piers eventually left to join the “Daily Mirror,” much to the consternation of Rupert Murdoch, who owned the “News” and liked Piers’ style.
After publishing photos allegedly showing British soldiers abusing Iraqi soliders, Piers was fired from the “Mirror.” The photos turned out to be a hoax.
Most recently, he is best known to American audiences as co-host of America’s Got Talent. He’s a judge on the British version, as well. Piers is the host of a number of news magazines and programs in the U.K., including The Dark Side of Fame with Piers Morgan and Piers Morgan’s Life Stories.
In September 2010, CNN announced that Piers would replace Larry King as host of a new television program, Piers Morgan Tonight.
